There are some unwritten rules on Twitter that if you don’t adhere to will end up with your account losing followers and displeasing your audience.

Here’s the lowdown on basic Twitter etiquette; follow these 3 simple rules and you’ll be part of the in-crowd:

  1. Don’t spam

Twitter is quick - your tweet has about a 6 second lifespan - but your followers remember your content. Ensure your tweets are sent in a timely manner and are not using the same language each time.

 2. Don’t mislead

If your tweet includes a link, make sure it reflects the content your sending your followers to.

 3. Get involved

It’s not all me, me, me. Participate in Twitter, interact with your followers, and with local businesses. It’s about growing your online community after all.
