This instruction guide will help you set up your ManyChat account and show you how to add your new ManyChat account to Maybe*. This will allow you to see your subscriber numbers, view your chatbot results, and share approved content from your chatbot to your social feeds.

The below instructions are necessary in order for Maybe* to be able to display how many Messenger subscribers you have, and the changes both up and down. 

There are two sets of actions, one for displaying increases and one for displaying unsubscribes. Please ensure you complete both. 

PLEASE NOTE:

If you have just created your ManyChat account and have ZERO subscribers, the below set of instructions are for you. 

 If you already have Messenger subscribers, please scroll down to your instructions marked below. 

Instructions for if you have zero subscribers: 

There are three steps to take:

  1. Connect so Maybe* can track your increases in subscribers
  2. Connect so Maybe* can track your unsubscribes
  3. Test

Step 1: Increases in subscribers: 

  1. You will require a ManyChat Pro account to access this function, if you do not have a pro account visit ManyChat and upgrade.
  2. Copy the New Subscriber webhook URL from the Maybe* chatbot manager page.
  3. Open your ManyChat bot account and select Automation. 
  4. Click on Rules within the Automation menu.
  5. Click Custom Rule and create a new Rule.
  6. Name your Rule e.g. ADD USER TO MAYBE*.
  7. Under the Trigger drop down select New Subscriber.
  8. Under the Action drop down select External Request.
  9. Click Add your request in the Yellow Action box. 
  10. A new window will open with the External Request screen.
  11. Paste the copied URL from Maybe* (Step 2 above) into the Request URL box and ensure the Request Type is Post.
  12. Select Body and click Add Full Subscriber Data (as this is a new ManyChat account you might be required to click the send to Messenger blue button, do so if prompted).
  13. You will see an example set of data appear within the preview screen.
  14. Do NOT click Test the Request (we will come back to this).
  15. Click Save on the External Request box. 
  16. Then Save and Activate the rule ensuring its set to perform any number of times.

That's it, the add a subscriber webhook is now setup. 

Step 2: Unsubscribers: 

  1. You will require a ManyChat Pro account to access this function, if you do not have a pro account visit ManyChat and upgrade.
  2. Copy the unsubscribe webhook URL from the Maybe* chatbot manager page.
  3. Open your ManyChat bot account and select Automation.
  4. Select Keywords from the list.
  5. Within Keywords click on Unsubscribe from bot, this will open the unsubscribe flow. 
  6. Select Edit Flow.
  7. Open the Yellow Action box that contains the action “Unsubscribe from bot” and add a new Action below from the dropdown select External Request.
  8. Open the External Request screen.
  9. Paste the copied URL from Maybe* (Step 2 above) into the Request URL box and ensure the Request Type is Post.
  10. Select Body and click Add Full Subscriber Data.
  11. You will see an example set of data appear within the preview screen.
  12. Do NOT click Test the Request.
  13. Click Save on the External Request box .
  14. Then ensure you Publish the Flow by Clicking Publish.

That's it, the remove subscriber webhook is now setup. 

Now that you have completed the above set of instructions, you need to test is using the following instructions. 

Step 3: Test

  1. Return to Automation and select Rules.
  2. Open your previously created rule for adding a subscriber to Maybe*.
  3. Click on External request and the pop window opens. 
  4. Click Test the Request. 
  5. If all working correctly you should see a Green OK in the results.
  6. Click Save and ensure the rule is Activated. 
  7. Then within the Maybe* platform click on the Audience Drop down select Growth history.
  8. Scroll down and you should see Messenger graph with 1 subscriber which should now match the number of subscribers you have in your NEW ManyChat account.

Instructions for if you have subscribers already:

If you already have Messenger Subscribers and an existing ManyChat bot, the below instructions are for you. 

There are three sets of actions, one for displaying increases, one for displaying unsubscribes and testing. Please ensure you complete all three

  15. Click Save on the External Request box. 
  16. Then Save and Activate the rule ensuring its set to perform any number of times.

That's it the add a subscriber webhook is now setup. 

Step 2: Unsubscribers: 

  1. You will require a ManyChat Pro account to access this function, if you do not have a pro account visit ManyChat and upgrade.
  2. Copy the unsubscribe webhook URL from the Maybe* chatbot manager page.
  3. Open your ManyChat bot account and select Automation.
  4. Select Keywords from the list.
  5. Within Keywords click on Unsubscribe from bot this will open the unsubscribe flow. 
  6. Select Edit Flow.
  7. Open the Yellow Action box that contains the action “Unsubscribe from bot” and add a new Action below from the dropdown select External Request.

  12. Do NOT click Test the Request.
  13. Click Save on the External Request box. 
  14. Then ensure you Publish the Flow by Clicking Publish.

That's it the remove subscriber webhook is now setup. 

Now that you have completed the above set of instructions, you need to test is using the following instructions. 

Step 3: Test

  1. Return to Automation and select Rules.
  2. Open your previously created rule for adding a subscriber to Maybe*.
  3. Click on External request and the pop window opens. 
  4. Click Test the Request. 
  5. If all working correctly you should see a Green OK in the results.
  6. Click Save and ensure the rule is Activated. 
  7. Then within the Maybe* platform click on the Audience Drop down select Growth history.
  8. Scroll down and you should see Messenger graph with 1 subscriber which indicates the webhooks are now connected.
  9. Return to Chatbot Manager in Maybe*.
  10. Scroll down to Active Subscribers.
  11. Type the number of Active subscribers you have in your ManyChat account into this box and click save.
  12. Return to the Audience page and from the drop down select Growth history.
  13. You should now see the graph for Messenger with the total matching your existing ManyChat Active subscriber count.

That's it, you are all setup.
