The Facebook Special Ad Category is a new classification for ads that link to housing, credit, or job opportunities. Facebook created the category to help enforce its policies against discriminatory practices in advertising and prevent discrimination based on demographic characteristics, such as age and gender.

If your ads fall under this classification, Facebook will limit the audience targeting options you have available and prevent you from creating a target audience based on age, gender, or zip code.

In Maybe* AI Ads Manager, you will simply need to toggle on a setting to ensure all the audience restrictions will be automatically applied to your campaigns to ensure you keep within Facebook guidelines.

Jump in to your Maybe* platform and select Maybe AI Ads Manager. Click into 'Connect Platforms' from the top menu. Scroll down until you see the line: Do you advertise Credit, Employment or Housing? You can toggle on accordingly if your advertising sits within any of these categories.
