What is a Dedicated Sending Domain?

A dedicated sending domain allows you to send emails that appear to come from your brand, helping you maintain a better reputation with email services. You can create a dedicated sending domain, and it's quick and easy.

By default, all emails sent from the Maybe* platform will show the name of our email-sending servers in the "sent on behalf of" or "sent via" email headers.

It is best practice not to do this and to set up your own sending domain to increase your email performance.

Why should you have a dedicated sending domain?

  1. Enhanced Deliverability: With a dedicated sending domain, your emails are less likely to be affected by the reputation of other senders sharing the same domain. This means your important messages will have a better chance of reaching your recipients' inboxes

  2. Brand Credibility: A dedicated sending domain adds a professional touch to your emails, reinforcing your brand identity and building trust with your recipients.

  3. Increased Control: Managing your own sending domain gives you greater control over your email deliverability, allowing you to set up authentication protocols like SPF, DKIM, and DMARC to prevent unauthorised use of your domain.

  4. Reduced Spam Flagging: Shared domains can sometimes lead to higher spam-flagging rates. By transitioning to your own sending domain, you reduce the risk of your legitimate emails being mistaken for spam.

How to Create a Dedicated Sending Domain

You can create multiple sending domains under your account and set one as active. Follow these steps to create and set up a dedicated sending domain via the Maybe* platform:

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Navigate to Email Settings:

    • Go to Settings > Email Settings > Email Services.

  2. Under SMTP Service select> Dedicated Domain and I{

    • Select Add Domain button

  3. Create Your Dedicated Domain:

    • Click the Dedicated Domain button.

    • Add your domain details.

  4. Verify Your Domain:

    • Verify the domain by applying your new DNS records to your company’s DNS provider’s platform. Note that every domain host may have slightly different methods for doing this.

  5. Activate Your Sending Domain:

    • Once the DNS records are applied and propagated, your dedicated sending domain will be ready to use on the Maybe* platform.

By following these steps, you can ensure that your emails are sent from a domain that represents your brand, improving your email deliverability and maintaining a better reputation with email services.

By setting up a dedicated sending domain, you can take full control of your email reputation and improve deliverability, ensuring that your communications reach the intended recipients' inboxes rather than getting caught in spam filters.
