Add your Facebook advertising account to your Business Manager to be able to advertise on Facebook and Instagram.
How to add your ad account to your business manager
On a desktop, open two tabs. In the first tab, open Facebook. In the second tab, type business.facebook.com.
If you already have business manager set up, you will be taken straight to your account.
In ‘Business Settings’, click the dropdown menu and select ‘Ad accounts’. You should see a big blue ‘Add’ button to click to add an account.
You will then need to choose from three options: ‘Add an ad account’, ‘Request access to an ad account’ and ‘Create a new ad account’. (note: don’t assume that you do not already have an ad account. If you have ever boosted a post for example, Facebook will have created an ad account for you.)
If you know that you have got an ad account, select ‘Add an ad account’ and you will be prompted to input your ad account ID.
To find your ID, go to the other tab you have opened - with your personal Facebook account - and in the side menu, click on either ‘Ad Center’ or ‘Ad Manager’. Click there and then select ‘All ads’ once the next screen appears.
In the middle of the next screen, you should see a prompt saying ‘See more details in Ads Manager’. Click there and your Ads manager will open in a new tab.
In the URL, look for ‘act=’, as next to it you should see a number (in our video above, the number is 8 digits long. Select this number, copy and paste it into the ‘Add account ID’ prompt in step 5 above.
Click the blue ‘Add ad account’ button. Facebook should then add it to your list under ‘Ad accounts’.
