Optimise your Google My Business listing with opening times, photography and more to give customers more reasons to visit you.

Google My Business (GMB) is a free service offered by Google to increase your visibility online and to help your customers find out information about your business with ease. But did you know that you can use your GMB listing to help both showcase and sell your products, too? Any business can use this feature, so here are some tips on how to make the most of your GMB listing.

How the Great Frog Paterson uses Google My Business

Showcasing your products on Google My Business

Utilise the product section to showcase your offerings by uploading your best - or newest - products. This is not a sponsored ad; you can manually upload the products from your website and they will then sit alongside Google content. Enable easy browsing with the "View All" button for a comprehensive product display. Ensure you regularly update your listed products to keep your product catalogue up to date.

Maximise your GMB profile

The catalogue feature is relatively new. Make use of this opportunity to feature on Google's first page, without additional costs. How your images look on a screen is also important. In our example, the Great Frog Paterson’s choice of imagery is particularly eye-catching as they have opted for items set against a black background, which really pops against the white background of the webpage.

How Google My Business helps customers find you

Your GMB listing is an opportunity to welcome some frictionless commerce to your business. By this we mean it is easier for your customers to both find you - using Google’s map feature, and to contact you. Ensure your contact details are up to date to allow customers to call or email your business directly from their search engine results.

Note: Make sure your GMB listing and product catalogue is kept up to date; for example, to avoid image clicks going through to dead links. With some care and regular maintenance, your business can easily make the most of GMB's features, enhancing your online presence, and engaging with customers effectively, all without spending a penny.
