Looking to grow your LinkedIn account for your business? Here we show you how to engage (comment, like and share) LinkedIn posts as a business which will help you increase your visibility and reach.

How to engage on a LinkedIn post as a business

As with other social media platforms, it's important to spend a good amount of time engaging on LinkedIn. We recommend that you spend an equal amount of time engaging as you do posting, if you can.

By engaging with feeds that you follow - feeds that are of interest to you and to your audience; people are much more likely to reciprocate and engage with your content, too.

A guide to engaging on LinkedIn as a business

By engaging with a post, we mean liking it, commenting on it, or sharing it. To find content to engage with on LinkedIn, scroll through your feed under the ‘Home’ tab, as it’s here that you’ll find all the feeds you’ve chosen to follow.

You can also look under notifications for new posts of interest to you. LinkedIn will suggest new posts to you, that the algorithm feels will be relevant to you or your business. You should also see posts from people you’ve connected with here, as well as posts that are notable because they’ve received a lot of engagement.

How to engage with a post on LinkedIn

  1. Find a post you’re interested in.

  2. Below the post, you should see your profile picture in a small circle, with a tiny dropdown arrow. Click here and a popup will appear, giving you the opportunity to choose whether to engage as yourself (your personal profile), or as your business page. Select the profile you want to use and click ‘Save’.

  3. Also below the post you should see a number of options. There will be a thumbs up icon to give the post a ‘like’, or you can press and hold the thumbs up to choose a different reaction. There will also be a prompt to add a comment - type in your comment and click ‘Post’.

  4. You can also forward the post via private message to someone - just click on the ‘Send’ paper aeroplane icon to do this.

  5. Another option you have is to repost the content. This means that you can add the post to your own profile, adding a comment of your own at the top if you choose - in which case choose the ‘Share with your own thoughts’ option, and the original post will be linked below. Click the ‘Share’ arrow to do this; add your comment and any relevant hashtags to your repost, then click ‘Post’.
